Shirley Brattain Retires — Tamworth Secretary Position is Open

SHIRLEY BRATTON

The Board announces with regret the retirement of our long time Secretary, Shirley Brattain. The Brattains have been involved in breeding and showing Tamworths since 1960. They have made a great contribution to the breed and we have been privileged to have Shirley as our secretary since December 2001, when she succeeded Tom Fenton.

This now leaves a position that must be filled and should be filled soon. Anyone interested in the position should apply promptly via email directed to Dave LaFollette, who will circulate all applications to each of the Board members. If you do not use email, you may mail it to him. You must include a resume, but please include as well a description of why you are interested in the position and any skills or qualities you have that you think would be of particular value. All applications will be considered and a careful decision made by the entire Board. You may be contacted with questions or a request for an interview. We would like to have the applications in by April 7, 2013.

Tamworth Queens Show Float in the Lafayette Christmas Parade

Samantha and I decided to put together a float in the Lafayette Christmas Parade, the largest Christmas parade in the state of Indiana. We won first place in our catagory. Everyone came up to us asking us about the breed of Tamworths and we were very happy to tell them about the breed and the Tamworth Association that we have. This year Samantha and I have had a lot of fun times and we are very proud to represent the Tamworth Association and we hope that we can do it again and keep promoting the breed to other people so that our breed will become the best that it can be. We hope to see many of you at the National show this year as well! — Courtney Gulick
